Artist Bio
Charlie has lived in Maine for well over a decade and has found the state to possess the most beautiful places of any he has ever seen thus far in his life! Of course, he was slightly near-sighted as a child and so might have missed some things in western NY!  But Charlie is certainly not alone in his reverance for Maine's beauty.  It is, after all, nicknamed "Vacationland" as evidenced on its old lobster license plates!  It is also referred to as "the way life should be!"  Charlie agrees whole-heartedly!  Many of his early paintings were of Maine scenes, especially of the lighthouses that decorate the notorious 'rock-bound coast!'
More recently, Charlie has combined two of his loves (art and stamp collecting) by painting on US Postal Service First Day of Issue envelope covers, also called simply First Day Covers (or FDCs for short). Many collectors feel his covers are top notch, rivaling those of any other current cover artists in the country!
Charlie's paintings are beginning to reach even broader audiences, with one of his paintings of Marilyn Monroe having been published in a beautiful hard-cover book called Marilyn In Art (click on the link that says "page 114" to see the page with Charlie's painting on it), compiled by Roger Taylor of Southport, England.
The other loves in Charlie's life are his wife and his two young children, Galen and Hannah, who enjoy 'experimenting' with Daddy's paints. If you like 'modern' art, then you would love some of the creative 'masterpieces' Galen and Hannah have painted!  They paint much faster than their father does, too!
